Our Beliefs

The Bible - We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe the King James Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people.  Psalms 12:6-7; I Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

God - We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; and in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct, but harmonious, offices in the great work of redemption.  Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 26:19; I Corinthians 8:6; I John 5:7

Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, He freely took upon Him our nature, yet without sin, honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins; He was born of a virgin, and is true God and true man.  Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15

The Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son, and of the same nature; that He was active in the Creation; and in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.  John 16:13, Acts 2:4, 5:9, 8:29

Sin - We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death, but also spiritual death or eternal separation from God.  Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race, with an inherited sinful nature.  Genesis 1:26-27; 2:16, 3:16-19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23

Salvation - We believe in God’s grace; that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the Gospel; that it is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a cordial, penitent, and obedient faith; and that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel, which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation.  John 6:37-40; Romans 8:1; I Corinthians 1:4-8, Ephesians 2:8-9

Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers - We believe, based on the Bible, that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. God either knows you or He never knew you! Matthew 7:23; John 6:37-40; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Corinthians 1:4-5; I Peter 1:4-5

The Local Church - We believe that the church, ecclesia, is a "called out assembling of believers," and that the church is manifested as a visible, tangible, local body for the purpose of evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and worship. We do not believe in a universal or invisible church, and find no model for the existence of such a church in the Word of God. We believe the church is visible, tangible, and local. We believe the church is an organism comprised of born-again, scripturally baptized believers carrying out the great commission. Mark 16:15; I Corinthians 12:12-14; II Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23  Mark 16:15; I  Corinthians 12:12; 15:58; Ephesians 1:22-23
